A free self-tying practice

I made this practice for exploring rope on your own body, at your own pace. You can use rope or a long scarf. Choose a place where you can move without interruption and keep a clear way to release every tie.

Practical notes

Keep the first tie comfortably loose and pay attention to changes in sensation, colour and temperature. Stop for numbness, tingling or unusual pain. If your rope is too short, the optional demonstration below shows one way to add length without interrupting the practice.

Choose the route that fits how you want to explore next. You can begin alone, learn with a partner, or look at the fuller course before deciding.
I teach rope technique, communication, consent and embodied attention. This material is educational and is not therapy or medical advice. If a health concern may affect tying, seek appropriate professional advice before practising.
